Meet Our Family
Welcome! Quick backstory on us. We come from completely different sides of the world and met in a foreign country for both of us. Brenda was born in Brazil and moved to Japan when she was an adult to visit family. I had just graduated college and wanted to break out of America badly so found the furthest place on a globe from Kansas and landed in Japan. Fast forward a few years, and as fate would have it, we met!

We decided to move back to America after living in Japan for nearly 5 years and started our beautiful family with Aya in 2016. And then came Otto in 2018.
​
Life seemed pretty great...We have a nice house, fantastic schools for our children, stable career and safety. A perfect little bubble. We remember talking one day to each other and saying, "this is it? And now what?"

There has to be more to life than this we thought. The material items we owned were beginning to own us. Our kids are still young and would be happy living in a box as long as we are all together.
​
So we decided to take a leap of faith. Lorus separated from his job and we are going to go on a bit of an adventure! We started an Instagram and Youtube channel which you gotta check out. And we are currently writing this from Brazil where we are staying for two months. After that, who knows where it will take us but we invite you to come on the ride :)

Hello world, I'm Lorus! After managing a chain of English schools in Japan, I got a corporate job back in America. I can't say it was a mistake since it afforded our family many opportunities, but I could not stand it. So I started a web design and digital marketing agency. We now have the ability to work wherever so we are going to travel a lottttt more. Stay tuned!

Hello world, I'm Brenda! After Japan, being a mother became my full-time job. And with the two rascals I have, I'm usually working overtime. Family is my life and I want to give them the best opportunities possible. So no matter where life takes us, front and center will always be our children. I believe anyone can accomplish anything so I will do my best to make sure our kids can obtain their dreams. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Hello world, I'm Aya! I speak Portuguese and English currently. I love unicorns, mermaids and anything pink. I just turned 4 years old in February and love my brother. I love vegetables and healthy food and trying new things. I have a lot of friends in the world and am looking forward to making more!

Hello world, I'm Otto! I am currently 18 months old. I speak more Portuguese words than English currently since we are in Brazil. I absolutely love harassing my sister and walking in random directions. My parents say I am like a goat because I eat everything. Literally everything...food, paper, I even started to eat a cardboard box one time. Nice memories. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
